My love for fitness really began in 1979, when I started training in the Martial Arts.  I started teaching Tae Kwon Do and Kendo in 1986, which lead me to training fighters in the gym around 1988.  Later, after I noticed that a slow and steady weight gain had lead me to a surplus of nearly 100 pounds, I began studying nutrition and what we now call Weight Loss Science.  Shortly thereafter, I began sharing my knowledge with overweight friends and family members, which lead me to leaving the elementary classroom and Martial Arts Dojo for a full-time career in the fitness industry.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education, an Indiana State Teaching License, Personal Trainer Certification/Licensure/Insurance, a 4th Degree Black Belt in traditional Tae Kwon Do, and I am an active member of MENSA.

As a Fitness Trainer and Martial Artist, I have appeared on Television in over 40 different countries, including many shows here in the United States.  These shows include “LIVE With Regis and Kelly,” “The Steve Harvey Show,” and “Guinness World Records Primetime” where I broke the world record for breaking the most 1x12x12 inch pine boards in 30 seconds with my forehead (Forehead strike through 31 boards in 30 seconds, Guinness World Records 2001 edition).

My goal in life is to make the world a healthier, fitter place, one or two people at a time.
